– The official attendance of the match was 89,267 – the largest ever RWC crowd, beating the 89,019 that watched New Zealand’s win over Argentina on the opening weekend of RWC 2015
– It was the 300th RWC match
– Ireland joined Scotland as the only RWC 2015 teams to get maximum points (including bonus points) in their first two pool matches
– Ireland maintained their 100% success record over Romania, winning their ninth Test
– Ireland’s 34-point winning margin was their biggest in three RWC matches against Romania
– Romania have still never got within 18 points of Ireland in any Test
– It was Ireland’s 10th consecutive RWC victory after leading at half-time, a record that stretches back to 1999 when they lost 28-24 to Argentina in the quarter-final play-off
– Ireland became the eighth team to score 900 RWC points, joining New Zealand, Australia, France, England, South Africa, Scotland and Wales
– Romania became the third team to concede 1000 RWC points
– By the end of the match, they had conceded 1,021 points. Only Japan (1,236) and Namibia (1,032) have conceded more RWC points
– Ireland scored six tries, taking their RWC 2015 total to 13. Only Australia (14) have scored more tries at RWC 2015 so far
– Keith Earls scored twice and equalled Brian O’Driscoll’s Ireland record of seven RWC tries
– It was the third time Earls had scored a RWC double after scoring twice in victories over both Russia and Italy at RWC 2011
– Only Drew Mitchell (who got to five earlier in the day for Australia), Doug Howlett (New Zealand) and Jonah Lomu (New Zealand) (all on five) and Rory Underwood (England), Brian Lima (Samoa) and Joe Rokocoko (New Zealand) (all on four) have got more RWC try multiples than Earls
– Tommy Bowe also scored a double to take his RWC total to four tries in five matches
– Bowe’s second try was his 30th for Ireland, putting him ahead of Denis Hickie (29) on the all-time list. Only Brian O’Driscoll (46) has scored more tries for Ireland than Bowe
– Rob Kearney scored in his second consecutive RWC match after touching down against Canada. He scored his first RWC try in the win over Russia at RWC 2011
– Ovidiu Tonita equalled Romeo Gontineac’s Romania record of 14 RWC appearances and managed to score his first RWC try
– Tonita’s first RWC match was also against Ireland, at RWC 2003
