Tuohy To Return For Ulster ‘A’ In B&I Cup Warm-Up Game
The Ulster ‘A’ team will play their Leinster counterparts at Donnybrook on Saturday night (kick-off 7pm), which will serve as a final warm-up game ahead of the opening round of the British & Irish Cup next weekend.
Dan Tuohy will return to captain the Ulster ‘A’ side, in what will be his first appearance since being sidelined with an ankle injury in December 2015.
The team selection includes seven starters from the thrilling 13-try 48-38 win over Canada ‘A’ at Kingspan Stadium at the end of August, including openside flanker Nick Timoney who picked up the man-of-the-match award that night.
Ireland Under-20 stars Johnny McPhillips and Jacob Stockdale will play at out-half and outside centre respectively, while Kyle McCall will add additional senior team experience to the front row.
Ulster ‘A’ will open their B&I Cup campaign next Friday night (October 14) against Jersey Reds. Kick-off is 7pm at Shaw’s Bridge in Belfast.
