Three Ireland Sevens Sides To Play At Dublin 7s
The Dublin 7s Festival takes place tomorrow at Old Belvedere Rugby Club in the capital and there will be three Ireland sides taking part.
The Ireland Men’s team, along with the Irish Exiles – consisting of IQ (Irish-qualified) players – will compete in the Men’s Elite competition, facing sides such as Italy, Samurai 7s and Jamaica.
The Men’s side will use the competition as preparation for the Rugby Europe Grand Prix Series, which begins on the first week of June. Ireland will travel to Moscow, Lodz, St. Etienne and Exeter as they look to claim a place at the 2018 Rugby World Cup Sevens, as well as qualifying for the 2018 Repechage for the World Rugby Word Series in Hong Kong.
The Ireland Women’s Sevens team will also be in action, taking on their Welsh counterparts, amongst others, at the Dublin 4 venue. The girls in green will travel to Canada next weekend for the penultimate leg of the World Rugby Women’s Sevens Series.
