Dr. Rod McLoughlin, IRFU Head of Medical Services, commented: “This new role within the IRFU’s medical support services infrastructure will enable us to centrally drive best practice in the area of physiotherapy and rehabilitation for our professional players.
“It was vital that we appointed an individual with a deep understanding of the game but also with the ability to drive innovation within our player welfare support systems. Phil was the stand-out candidate and his experience and insight will bring huge value to both our playing base and the development of our professional staff.”
