Easterby: O’Donnell To Have Scan On Shoulder Injury
Ireland forwards coach Simon Easterby gave an update on the squad today as preparations continue for the sold-out first match of the GUINNESS Series against South Africa on Saturday.
Speaking at a media session after training today at Carton House, Simon Easterby said: “Tommy O’Donnell picked up a bit of a shoulder bump in training yesterday so he’s due to have a scan today.
“Jack Conan sat out training, he just had a heavy workload, and Dan Leavy had a bit of tightness in his hamstring, obviously he played at the weekend. Again it’s just managing his workload.
“It’s just about being sensible and earmarking players who may have potential weaknesses. If you know about things, at least you can prepare for that and not take any unnecessary risks.”
Ireland’s game against the Springboks has been sold out for several weeks, but a limited number of tickets for the clash with Fiji are on sale and a handful of returned tickets for the series finale against Argentina may still be available on ticketmaster.ie.
