Behind The Scenes Of The Ireland Sevens Programme

Greg O'Shea and Harry McNulty

Greg O'Shea and Harry McNulty will feature in 'A Day In The Life' video next week

It’s now less than two weeks out from what will be a momentous week for Irish Sevens rugby as both the Men’s and Women’s teams will compete on the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series side-by-side for the first time.

After securing qualification for the World Series last April, the Ireland Men will make their eagerly-anticipated debut as a core team alongside the Ireland Women at the Dubai Sevens from December 5 to 7 as the 2019/20 season kicks into gear.

With two Ireland Development teams also travelling to compete in the Dubai Invitational tournament, over 50 players will wear the green jersey over the course of the week, making this an incredibly exciting time for Irish Sevens rugby.

Having moved into their new home at the IRFU High Performance Centre in Blanchardstown during the summer, both Sevens programmes are now centrally based in a world-class facility while IRFU Director of Sevens and Women’s Rugby Anthony Eddy spearheads the management, coaching and support staff.

Ahead of the December double-header in Dubai and Cape Town, Irish Rugby TV has gone behind-the-scenes at the IRFU High Performance Centre to bring you a fascinating insight into both Ireland Sevens programmes.

In two ‘A Day In The Life’ video features to be published across Irish Rugby platforms next week, Greg O’Shea and Harry McNulty guide us through their training day as preparations for the Men’s maiden season on the World Series intensifies, while Megan Burns and Emily Lane bring us inside the Ireland Women’s Sevens camp.

Below is a trailer for the ‘A Day In The Life with Greg O’Shea and Harry McNulty’, which will be published on the Irish Rugby YouTube, Facebook and Instagram accounts on Monday. The Women’s feature will be available online from Wednesday.
