In Touch: IRFU Launches Club E-Zine
The Irish Rugby Football Union today launched their Domestic Game E-Zine to help clubs access a wider audience with news, features and stories from across the domestic game.
The IRFU today launched its Domestic Game-focused E-Zine newsletter. With a strong emphasis on club rugby, the e-zine will also highlight news from the schools, colleges and universities as well as IRFU initiatives and updates.
The newsletter will be emailed on a regular basis throughout the year and will include AIB League and Cup updates, club news, feature stories as well as updates from the IRFU on international and domestic game issues.
IRFU President Der Healy welcomed the new look e-zine as part of the ongoing drive to give clubs access to the media to promote the work they do at grassroots level.
“The game is evolving all the time and new media and technology will help us to highlight these changes as well as giving our clubs, schools, colleges and universities a platform to raise the awareness of all the wonderful initiatives they undertake in their local community,” he said.
“The Club and Community section of IrishRugby.ie and our new look e-zine will play a strong part in giving clubs access to a wider audience. The clubs are the bedrock of the game but much of their work goes unheralded and yet plays a vital role in promulgating and supporting the game of rugby. The IRFU wants to ensure that this commitment receives the exposure at both local and national level that it deserves.”
The newsletter will be sent to clubs, players and media to highlight the spread of activity at grassroots level. Future issues will include features on the AIB Cup, Provincial Schools Cup competitions, the AIB League qualifying leagues and Towns Cup competitions, as well as regular updates and contributions from clubs.
