Ireland Men’s Sevens Squad Hit The Gym Ahead Of Paris 2024 Kick-Off

With their opening pool matches at the Olympic Games now just four days away, the Ireland Men’s Sevens players hit the gym this morning at their training base in Tours.

The city nestled in the Loire Valley is where the Ireland Men’s and Women’s Sevens squads have been based for a 10-day camp, completing their preparations for their eagerly-awaited Paris 2024 campaigns.

They availed of the same training facilities that the Ireland Men’s 15s team used for last year’s Rugby World Cup.

Coached by James Topping, the Ireland Men’s Sevens side face South Africa in their Pool A opener at the Stade de France next Wednesday (kick-off 5.30pm local time/4.30pm Irish time).

Earlier this week the Stade de la Chambrerie complex played host to some short training games (with limited contact) for Topping’s charges. They got a chance to test themselves against Australia and Uruguay, in front of an enthusiastic local crowd.
