Ireland Men’s Sevens Squad Arrive Home From World Cup

The Ireland Men’s Sevens squad (sponsored by TritonLake) arrived back at Dublin Airport today, where they were greeted by family members, friends and fans.

There were joyous scenes as the players continued the celebrations on home soil, fresh from their Bronze medal-winning run at the Rugby World Cup Sevens in Cape Town.

James Topping’s men defeated Portugal (24-0), England (17-5), hosts South Africa (24-14) and Australia, winning 19-14 in a thrilling Bronze final, to secure a coveted podium finish.

Harry McNulty, the team’s joint-top try scorer over the weekend, and pacy playmaker Terry Kennedy also earned IC Markets Rugby World Cup Sevens Dream Team honours.

The Ireland Men and Women will rest up now and regroup ahead of a blockbuster 2022/23 season, with the Men’s World Series beginning in Hong Kong on November 4-6. The Women’s Series kicks off in Dubai on December 2-3.

The competition will be intense from start to finish with the prize of Olympic Games Paris 2024 qualification on offer for the top four women’s and men’s teams in the World Series standings.
