First half tries from Sean Edogbo and Hugh Gavin put the Ireland Under-20s (sponsored by PwC) on course for a 43-10 bonus point win over Wales in wet conditions at Virgin Media Park.
With captain Evan O’Connell delivering a PwC player-of-the-match performance, further scores from Henry Walker, replacement Danny Sheahan (2), and Ben O’Connor sealed Ireland’s third win of the campaign.
Speaking in the aftermath, O’Connell said: “We said we wanted to right a few wrongs after the last day, and it felt like we did that today in all facets of the game. Really proud of the performance we put in.
“We pride ourselves on being next job-focused, so when they scored we just spoke about resetting and going again, and that’s what we did and we put the pressure on.
“As I said, it’s next moment, next job, so we’re taking it one game at a time but we’re looking forward to a great challenge over in Bath (against England in the next round).”
