Ireland produced another strong performance in the second round of the WXV3 tournament in Dubai. They tallied up ten tries to run out 64-3 winners over Colombia.
A solid first half saw Scott Bemand’s side lead 38-0 thanks to tries from Neve Jones, Natasja Behan, Méabh Deely, Brittany Hogan and co-captain Edel McMahon. Dannah O’Brien added four conversions.
While things got scrappy at times during the second half, there were scores from Béibhinn Parsons (2), a second from Mastercard player-of-the-match Jones, and a first international try for Leah Tarpey. Deely took over the kicking and tagged on two conversions.
Ulster forward Fiona Tuite and teenage Connacht back Clara Barrett came on to win their first caps, taking the number of Ireland debuts in Dubai so far to five.
