Winning Start For Ireland Under-20 Men In South Africa

Ireland kicked off their World Rugby U-20 Championship campaign with a comprehensive 55-15 bonus point win over Six Nations rivals Italy.

Sam Berman grabbed a hat-trick of tries, alongside scores from Danny Sheahan, Luke Murphy, captain Evan O’Connell, Finn Treacy, and Sean Naughton, who contributed 14 points off the bench. Jack Murphy kicked six points.

It was Willie Faloon’s first match since taking over as head coach from Richie Murphy, and his side will be back in Pool B action next Thursday when they play Georgia in Stellenbosch (kick-off 1pm Irish time – live on RugbyPass TV).
