Kearney's try is converted by Carty as Ireland go nine points in front. Second row Ryan claims the ball from the restart, and another cross-field kick from Carty to Earls soon has the supporting Kearney attacking over halfway.

Time For The TMO...It Is A Try For Kearney!

Ireland get over for their second try. A purposeful attack with Earls and the forwards to the fore. Stockdale was chopped down wide on the right before Japan infringed. The advantage allowed Carty to chip through and the Athlone man brilliantly tapped the ball back for Kearney to finish off past Mafi.

Best and Henderson work a choke tackle on Lomano Lemeki. Turnover ball for Ireland in the form of a scrum. It is the game's first scrum after a full 18 minutes! Ireland keep the ball in and win a penalty, bringing play back into the Japanese 22.

Ringrose Rises For The Opening Try

Ringrose causing plenty of trouble for the Japanese defence. He links with Earls wide on the right. Ireland keep the attack going in the 22, drawing a penalty before Carty hangs up a cross-field kick out to the right where Ringrose rises brilliantly to gather it and touch down.

Some slick offloading down the left touchline from Ireland. Ringrose started it off with a floated pass over the top to Stockdale. Ringrose, Rob Kearney and Josh van der Flier kept the move going with good hands but a rare handling error from Tadhg Furlong.

Mafi infringes with a tackle off the ball. Ireland have a kickable penalty but Carty tries his luck with a cross-field kick after getting the signal from Earls. The winger is unable to get his hands on the ball and Japan clear following the lineout.

O'Mahony went off his feet at the breakdown. A central penalty from outside the Irish 10-metre line. But it is a poor strike from Japan out-half Tamura and it edges away to the left of the posts.

Lively start from both sides. Garry Ringrose uses his quick feet to exploit some space just outside the Japanese 22. But a poach from Amanaki Mafi leads to a momentum-building set of phases.


Suddenly, a kick through close to the right touchline has Kotaro Matsushima almost over for a try. The ball evades him and Jacob Stockdale is there to dot it down for a drop-out.
