A former school Principal, Gerry is a member of Bangor RFC. He previously played in Portora Royal School and for Malone and Limavady.
First elected to the Ulster Branch Committee in 1989 he was President in the 1999/00 season and also served as Chairperson of the Rugby Committee.
He was elected to the IRFU Committee in 2007/08 season and has been Chair of the Irish Schools Committee since 2008. He has also worked on several other committees including the Spirit of Rugby Committee, Club Affairs, Age Grade, Regulations and the IRFU Charitable Trust.
