#EnergiaAIL Finals Flashback

The Energia All-Ireland League starts this weekend, so here is a reminder of last season’s epic finals day at the Aviva Stadium where Cork Constitution and UL Bohemian were crowned the respective Men’s Division 1A and Women’s Division champions.

It was an historic day for club rugby with the first Men’s and Women’s finals double header at the home of Irish Rugby, and the action on the pitch and atmosphere did not disappoint.

Women’s Division Final: UL Bohemian 48 Railway Union 38

There were tries galore in the Women’s Division final as player-of-the-match Chisom Uguweru bagged a hat-trick, helping table toppers UL Bohemian to overcome a Lindsay Peat-inspired Railway Union in an end-to-end classic.

Featuring in the build-up to a number of tries, out-half Kate Flannery also contributed handsomely to a record 14th AIL title for UL Bohs, who were last crowned champions back in 2018.

Men’s Division 1A Final: Terenure College 22 Cork Constitution 33

Cork Constitution secured their first Energia All-Ireland League crown since 2019 with a terrific three-try victory over Terenure College, the defending champions from 2022/23.

Jonny Holland’s side were reduced to 14 men after John Forde’s red card and at one stage were down to 12 players, but held their lead throughout the game with player-of-the-match James Taylor, who kicked 18 points, pulling the strings.
