It was a historic day for Japanese rugby and a bitterly disappointing one for Ireland. The team are down but by no means out as we hear from Rhys Ruddock, Luke McGrath and Cian Healy. The scrum half, who was a makeshift winger in the second half, said:
It’s very disappointing, it’s very quiet in the dressing room at the moment but full credit to Japan. I thought they deserved their win, they attacked very well and put us under a lot of pressure in defence. It’s tough to swallow now but we’ve five days to pick it up and make it right (against Russia).”
