Having the rounds close together has given squads take learnings into the final day of interprovincial sevens. Alana McInerney of Ennis RFC is part of the Munster U-18 Sevens squad and says she is really looking forward to it.

“I have a few things I want to improve on. Catch-and-pass is one but I want to run better support lines and be of more help to my team-mates,” she said. “In Sevens you need to be more accurate with your catch and pass and you’ve less room to fail. Over these past few weeks I think I’ve really improved.”

Like Alana, Kanturk’s Sarah Murphy has played for the Munster U-18 15s side and is improving her overall game through Sevens. “The same things are important,” she explained. “You’re not going to learn unless you’re up against harder players. To even get to wear the jersey, it’s an accomplishment of all your hard work.”
