The IRFU Women’s Interprovincial Championship gets underway with a Friday Night Lights clash between Leinster and Ulster at Stradbrook in Blackrock (kick-off 7pm). We spoke to captains Sene Naoupu and Larissa Muldoon ahead of the tournament opener.
Speaking at Energia Park earlier this week, newly-appointed Leinster captain Sene Naoupu said: “We’re really looking forward to getting into it. Ulster will be very tough and this Friday night in Blackrock will be a big challenge – a strong pack and we will have to be prepared as possible.”
Ulster’s Larissa Muldoon is hoping to improve on the back of the lessons learned from last season, saying: “We’re looking to right the wrongs from last season. This summer we’ve put in a lot of hard work with our ‘S&C’ and we have some great young players coming through.”
