IRFU Chief Executive Philip Browne spoke to Irish Rugby TV about the positive financial results for the 2017/18 season and the challenges ahead for Irish Rugby.
The IRFU today reported a quicker-than-forecast return to profit for with a 1.2 million euro surplus for 2017/18 thanks largely to the Grand Slam win for Ireland’s men, Champions Cup glory for Leinster and the advancement of Munster to two semi-finals.
IRFU Chief Executive Philip Browne was delighted with the surplus but also sounded a note of caution about the changing landscape of TV rights deals and the increasing costs of running the game.
