Thomond RFC’s Division 2C campaign is back on track thanks to a 22-17 win over Bruff at Liam Fitzgerald Park. It was a first AIL win in 16 weeks for the Limerick men and a maiden win under newly installed Head Coach Kevin O’Mahony.
Evan Cusack and Aaron McCluskey scored first half tries for a 15-06 lead at the turn around. A penalty try helped Thomond withstand a second half come-back that included John Clery’s score for Bruff.
“To get the win after tough training over Christmas was great,” said O’Mahony. “If you want to win a match on a Saturday, the work is done on a Tuesday and a Thursday.”
