IRFU President Ian McIlrath, Fiona Hayes of defending champions UL Bohemians and Mary Healy of Galwegians on the start of the Women’s All-Ireland League this weekend.
Speaking at the launch of the new Women’s All-Ireland League season, IRFU President Ian McIlrath said: “We’re all looking forward to a wonderful competition. The Women’s All-Ireland League provides players with an opportunity to showcase their talent and the pathway is there for them to progress from what is a very exciting league.”
UL Bohemians captured another league title last season and their captain Fiona Hayes is looking forward to the challenge of retaining the trophy, saying: “A few UL Bohs girls were in the Munster set-up and they’ve had an intense few weeks but we didn’t get the result we wanted (in the Interpro decider), so we’re really looking forward to trying to get our hands on the league title again this season.”
