From the bright lights of Yokohama via the Shinkansen bullet train to the zen calm of the Katsuragi Hotel in Shizuoka. The Ireland squad moved bases yesterday and it was quite an undertaking.
IRFU head of operations Ger Carmody and prop Cian Healy tell us all about the packing requirements and the logistics of the move, while Chris Farrell, one of the Rugby World Cup debutants against Scotland, gives us a look at the new ‘zen’ setting for the team.
Speaking about the change of scenery, Farrell said:
We’ve left the bright lights of Yokohama and Chiba and Tokyo for what feels like a Japanese retreat. It’s very zen in a woodland setting. It’s really cool to see more than just the neon of Tokyo, it’s a welcome change.”
