Dalton Sets The Scene Ahead Of Ireland’s WXV1 Debut

Ireland centre Aoife Dalton spoke to Irish Rugby TV at BC Place in Vancouver as the squad builds towards their WXV1 opener against New Zealand on Sunday (kick-off 7pm local time/3am Irish time – live on RugbyPass TV/BBC iPlayer).

The build-up has included a training session with their French counterparts which helped to ‘clear the heads’, following the flight over to Canada. Dalton said:

France are in the top five in the world and they gave us a taste of something new. We get used to training against each other week in, week out, and they definitely threw something new at us. It was fun, I really enjoyed it.

“We want to be here, playing the best in the world, so it’s exciting to be playing the World champions in our first game.”

Following the first round match against the Black Ferns, Ireland will play hosts Canada on Saturday week, and the USA on Friday, October 11. All games will be live on RugbyPass TV.
