‘Your Club, Your Country’ – Why Buy A Ticket?
Tickets are on sale now from participating clubs for the IRFU’s 2019 ‘Your Club, Your Country’ Grand Draw.
Irish Rugby TV sat down with Rod Cosgrave and Paddy Joe Moran of Ashbourne RFC to hear why their club participates in ‘Your Club, Your Country’ every year.
Cosgrave, the Director of Rugby at Ashbourne Rugby Club, said:
Ashbourne has found it great for raising money. We’re building a new gym out of it, it helps to send a few of our mini teams on tours around the country.
“It’s just a great help and they know that all the money, every penny that ‘Your Club, Your Country’ earns, goes back into the club and that’s a huge selling point. It’s a no-brainer for any club because you have no expenditure – all income.”
Moran came away with the top prize in the 2017 Grand Draw of trip to Australia to follow the Ireland team on their summer tour, a prize that is on offer again in this year’s draw. He said:
I bought the ticket because I’ll always support anything that supports my children, and supports their place in the community, and that’s what the club does here.”
